Historic! Around 500 cyclists and non-cyclists today marked the death of Ana Oliveira, a 16-year-old basketball player for Sporting who, with her bike in hand, was hit by a motorist who failed to respect the red light about a week ago.

In silence for 16 minutes, hundreds of people occupied the four lanes of Campo Grande, laying down their bicycles and sitting (or not) on the hot asphalt. For 16 minutes, nothing was heard apart from the sound of birds. The action was coordinated with the authorities and respected all safety regulations.

It was a very unique moment, almost indescribable and one that will undoubtedly mark the history of Lisbon. We're asking for a calmer city with no deaths. We ask that the Anas not be forgotten.
