What is LPP?
LPP (Lisboa Para Pessoas) is a local newspaper about Metropolitan Lisbon. Founded in 2021, it has been consolidating its position in the Lisbon metropolitan area as the most widely read newspaper. Its editorial line focuses on the themes of Mobility, Housing, Sustainability and Citizenship.
LPP is run full-time by Mário Rui André, a journalist, and has the part-time support of João Ribeiro, from the Shifter project. LPP's legal structure is a company, the Shifter Generation, Unipessoal Lda. It is a certified micro-enterprise.
The LPP has no party affiliation and no connection to any local council.
How much do LPP people get paid?
These salaries, which are extraordinarily precarious for the workload we have, are a personal investment that each of us makes in this journalistic project and also in Shifter.
Why support?
Any donation is an asset to LPP's sustainability.
As we all know, journalism is a precarious field that pays poorly and where it is difficult to stabilize and grow an innovative project like LPP.
As much confidence as we have in the sustainability model, we know that this work will always depend on donations from readers who have the opportunity to contribute to a common and necessary good, that is, to local journalism about Metropolitan Lisbon.
These donations are especially important in this launch phase. LPP had its pilot in 2021/20, and a maturing phase in 2023. It now needs to continue that growth.
What is LPP's sustainability model?
LPP seeks sustainability through:
- Subscriptionsthrough which readers can get exclusive benefits and support the project;
- Donations (specific contributions);
- Sale of PUB Social, an innovative social advertising program, which offers visibility to associations, cooperatives and other social sector entities in the city and metropolitan area of Lisbon in the region's most widely read newspaper.
Where will you invest my money?
O seu dinheiro será investido no crescimento do LPP.
