Metropolitano de Lisboa has completed a set of technical works that allowed the replacement and connection of the existing neon artistic panels at Carnide station, by the artist José de Guimarães.

These panels, which will be switched on from 6pm today, have been deactivated since 2011, and Metropolitano de Lisboa has been carrying out the necessary work to restore them to working order since November 2019.

The neon panels, which will now be reactivated, are on the two tops of the atrium and the pier of the station, which was inaugurated in 1997 when the Blue Line was extended between Colégio Militar and Pontinha stations, and has architecture by Sérgio Gomes and plastic intervention by José de Guimarães.

Thus, those passing through Carnide station will be able to return to the past and the origin of the world, through a set of colors, lines and lights, which turn on and off to a cadenced rhythm.

This work demonstrates Metropolitano de Lisboa's commitment to the people who live and/or work in the Lisbon Metropolitan Area and its commitment to progressively improving the quality of the service it provides to its customers on a daily basis.
