The Duque d'Ávila cycle path in Lisbon, the only one with a digital counter, has just celebrated its first million. Since January 2016, when the number of bicycles on that road began to be counted, 1,023,197 bicycles have passed through.

Cycle path popularity trends from 2016 to 2020

On average, 918 bikes pass through/day, 5,689 bikes/week and 24,120 bikes/monthIf we isolate the data from mid-2018, when the completion of the Avenida da República cycle path and the installation of the GIRA bike-sharing system will have contributed to a substantial increase in the flow of that path, installed next to a wide pedestrian area with plenty of shops and other points of interest in the surrounding area.

Evolution over the last 12 months (from September 2019 to September 2020)

The figures also show that the week beginning October 5th was the busiest ever on the Duque d'Ávila cycle path. The busiest day ever was a Thursday, October 3, 2019, and the most popular month was March 2019.

The data for this cycle path is public and can be consulted here.
