A paving machine that, instead of tar, spreads a green carpet over the city. This is the illustration that André Carrilho shared this week on his social networks and that he developed in the context of Lisboa Capital Verde 2020. "The Lisbon City Council asked some illustrators to create three images inspired by a greener city, to be presented next year"explains in a post he made on Facebook.
André Carrilho adds that the shared illustration "may not work in this confined environment of social networks"The illustration was designed, he says, to be printed in A2 format. "wanted to play with scale (big set, small people)".
The work that Carrilho disclosed is only one of three and he did so because it was selected by Jorge Silva, from the design studio Silva, to be part of this year's edition of Illustration 33an initiative that will bring the talent of 33 Portuguese illustrators to an international festival.
