The new bus terminal at Campo Grande, an important road junction for routes arriving and departing to neighboring counties, is ready and the move will take place at the end of this month.
Passengers on intercity and regional routes to and from Campo Grande will be able to enjoy a more modern and pleasant infrastructure on the west side. The old terminal will be decommissioned, a process that will take place gradually between the end of November and the beginning of December, as the transport companies are gradually transferred to the new location:
- a November 24ththe positions 1 to 16 of the new terminal will be occupied by the companies J.J. Santo António, Henrique Leonardo Mota, Isidoro Duarte and Rodoviária de Lisboa;
- a November 25th, a Rodoviária do Oeste and Rodoviária do Tejo will start operating in the positions 26 to 29;
- a November 29ththe positions 17 to 25 the buses of the Boa Viagem, Ribatejana, Barraqueiro Oeste and Mafrense.
The space where the terminal used to be will be demolished to make the construction of a building for commerce and services, "sister" to the NOS building. The area has been reorganized for car and pedestrian traffic, and the cycle path linking Campo Grande to Telheiras has been redesigned so that it no longer makes unnecessary turns.
Carris services will also be moved. Since November 18th that the terminals for routes 701 and 798 are now at the shelters on Rua Actor António Silva and that route 767 now runs via Alameda das Linhas de Torres/Rua Actor António Silva, where it has started to stop. On December 2, routes 778, 767N (night), 43B, 44B and 796 will be transferred to Rua Cipriano Dourado, and will operate in temporary locations until their respective termini are completed on this street. A new intermediate stop will be created on Rua Francisco Stromp during the works for routes 767, 778 and 43B.
