The Navegante passes and the other transport tickets will not undergo price increases in 2021, announced the Lisbon Metropolitan Area (AML). The decision was made in accordance with the 0% update rate for collective public passenger transport, decreed by the Mobility and Transport Authority.

The AML states that 2021 is the second consecutive year in which the Navegante passes are not updated in priceAs this was not changed in 2020. The other public transportation tickets have not been increased either, "and thus the value of the respective tariffs should remain the same as in the year 2020".

"This measure is part of the strategy to promote the use of collective public transport, recommended for the Lisbon metropolitan area, which has as major goals the fight against social and economic inequalities associated with mobility, the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions, and the reduction of congestion, air pollution, noise levels and energy consumption.says AML.

Nationally, there will be no increases either. At CP, only the Alfa Pendular trains will see their prices increase at 0.5%. Thus, a trip from Lisbon (Oriente) to Porto (Campanhรฃ) on the fastest train will go from $31.40 to $31.90.
