Getting to the beautiful Parque Oeste, between Lumiar and Alta de Lisboa, will be easier. EMEL and the Lisbon City Hall started on December 2nd the public space requalification works in Azinhaga da Cidade, which foresees the connecting two cycle paths currently disconnected by a few meters: the one that ends under the IP7 viaduct, in a recently requalified square, and the one that starts at the beginning of Azinhaga da Cidade.
The intervention will cover three streets: Rua Prof. Manuel Valadares, Rua 10, and Rua Prof. Joรฃo Cรขndido de Oliveira. The bike path will be built on top of a street that will become exclusively pedestrian and bikeable, as all car traffic will be reorganized in the area.

Parking will also be reorganized, the Rua Prof. Joรฃo Cรขndido de Oliveira will become one-way, trees will be planted, and an EMEL plastered park will be built under the IP7 viaduct.
The work, which is expected to take 10 months, will be carried out in phases, in order to minimize disruption and traffic detour will be communicated in good time during the intervention. The project is available here:
