A new pedestrian and cycling link between Monsanto Forest Park and Alcântara, via Tapada da Ajuda, is now open to the public every day of the year. The paths were renovated as part of Lisbon Green Capital 2020, in a joint effort between the municipality and the Instituto Superior de Agronomia, which is located in the Tapada.

A number of cycling contra-flows have been created, shared lanes between cars and bicycles have been designed, coexistence zones have been marked and new paths and sidewalks have been created. In the spring of 2021, two vegetable parks with around a hundred plots in Tapada da Ajuda should be available to the local population.

Tapada da Ajuda is guaranteed to be open every day through the Rua Jau/Calçada da Tapada gate. The other three gates may not always be open. For up-to-date information, it's best to consult this page.
