The Lisbon Metropolitan Area launched an international call for tenders for the acquisition of a central integrated management technology platform, worth 2.8 million euros. This platform will make it possible to connect transport, ticketing and public information - because a good public transport offer also involves technology.
"The platform will be an essential part of improving the services provided to public transport passengers and, at the same time, promoting greater interoperability and integration between the services of the different operators in the Lisbon metropolitan area"reads a press release.
The future platform will be used to manage information and make it available to the public, but also internally to operators. The call for tenders, entitled 021/CEML/2021, can be consulted on the portal SaphetyGov. Proposals must be submitted by March 4th.
"This process is another essential step towards the operationalization of the new road passenger transport service in the Lisbon metropolitan area, scheduled for the end of this year, which will materialize a substantially more complete offer than the existing one"AML promises, in a reference to the new Carris Metropolitana. "The network, designed from scratch over the course of about a year by the Lisbon Metropolitan Area, will cover the Lisbon metropolitan region with around 600 bus lines, which will translate into an increase of around 40% compared to the road transport services that currently exist."
AML also says that it has 18 kiosks at an advanced stage of completion which will now offer personalized Lisboa Viva/Navegante cards and will also allow them to be loaded. It is also developing the modernization of the ticketing system and has a contract for 320 information panels on bus waiting times at bus stops, and another 50 information panels indoor.
