The work has been underway for several months and is being carried out in phases - the aim is to establish a green corridor along the Avenue of the United States of Americathat offers "a multifunctional space for those on foot, with areas for relaxation, leisure and recreation"The Alvalade Parish Council is carrying out the project with the support of the City Council.
The existing green spaces on the avenue are being renovated by planting new trees and shrubs and upgrading the sidewalks. A new dog park with two separate areas - one for large dogs and one for small dogs - and children's playgrounds are part of this green corridor, which is part of the Central Green Corridor.
This corridor is inspired by the work of Gonçalo Ribeiro Telles, who also designed the neighborhood's green spaces. Bairro das Estacasrecently renovated.
