Lisboa Para Pessoas has arrived

After several months of thinking, creating, deleting and redoing, Lisboa Para Pessoas is finally available. This is a new publication, based on information and journalism, about Lisbon and for Lisbon.

In the hierarchy of priorities, people have been overtaken by the need to give space to cars. Now, the fight is on for the return of space, its fair redistribution and the reversal of priorities: people first. O Lisbon For People is a new digital and community publication about sustainable mobility in Lisbon, and living in the city and its public space.

The direction that Lisbon now seems to want to take clashes with decades of investment in a city that turned its back on people and gave priority to the private car. Making Lisbon safer, greener, less polluted, less noisy and more human is the path that urgently needs to be taken so that the city can once again be walked by everyone. In this context, a new media outlet is needed to help with the transition that the city is making - in a way that is independent, collaborative e converging, without ulterior motives. A platform that offers information and tools for more thoughtful and conscious decisions, that helps in the public debate on the future of the city and that presents its value proposition - a Lisbon for People.

O Lisbon For People is born after several months of work, albeit not consecutively. It will probably still have many flaws, some imperfections and incomplete content. Nevertheless, in the News sectionIn this article, you can explore everything that is happening in Lisbon in the field of mobility and sustainability - there are more than 180 pieces published. Journalist and editor of Lisboa Para Pessoas, a local newspaper about Lisbon and the metropolitan area. I have 30 years living in the capital and 10 years of experience in media, having co-founded Shifter, an independent and reference magazine about technology. I studied advertising and marketing at the Escola Superior de Comunicação Social and, later, journalism and communication at the Faculdade de Letras da Universidade de Coimbra.
