The Amnesty International Garden, which is part of the Monsanto Green Corridor, will gain more trees and more shade. To this end, the central axis of the garden, which is currently a very wide and barren pedestrian area, will be paved over and trees planted.
The work began on April 27 and will take place over 90 days. There may be some constraints on the use of the garden (which will continue to be accessible). In addition to the changes to the central axis, a secondary route will also be improved, creating more seating areas and more shade. Benches and bins will also be installed.

The existing accesses or uses of the garden, which was inaugurated in 2012 and is located between Rua de Campolide, Avenida José Malhoa and Rua Cardeal Saraiva, will not be altered or conditioned. As part of the Monsanto Green Corridor, this garden can be visited on foot or by bicycle from Monsanto to Parque Eduardo VII, passing by Jardim da Amália, Gulbenkian or, in the future, the Praça de Espanha garden.
With an area of about 3.3 hectares, the Amnesty International Garden was designed by the architect Gonçalo Ribeiro Telles. It includes a vegetable garden, a fitness area and a terrace area in a small lawned auditorium.
