It's in public consultation the future Urban Park of Quinta do Marquês de AbrantesThis seven-hectare park will create a new green centrality in the parish of Marvila, while at the same time acting as a driving force for cohesion in the area. Until June 5thBy filling in an online form, anyone can participate in the construction of this Park with their ideas.
This form, which is available hereis intended to be an instrument for listening to the general population, allowing them to participate in the final options for the Urban Park. The testimonies collected will support the design team, which is already developing the project for this new green equipment, helping to define what it will look like in some details.
For now, it is known that Quinta do Marquês de Abrantes Urban Park The first phase will cover seven hectares, between Rua António Gedeão, Rua Alberto José Pessoa, Rua Dinah Silveira de Queiróz and the railway line, near the Marvila Library and the station. There will be space for walking and cycling routes, a children's playground, sports fields, community gardens and a "village square" in the station area.
When the works to extend the railway line are carried out, the area of the urban park will shrink. With this in mind, the park is being designed in four levels, from A to D. Level C is the one that may cease to exist with the doubling of the railway line, and B may be in question with the execution of the much vaunted third crossing of the Tagus. Alternatively, the possibility of extending the Urban Park to a zone D is being planned, but no date has been set.
In a previous consultation phase, some residents and local authorities, through the community group 4Growing, contributed to the drafting of the public design competition program and the choice of the winning project - that of the landscape architecture studio PROAP.
