For one day, any and all trips on the urban trains in Lisbon, Porto and Coimbra will cost €1 regardless of the point of departure and destination. The campaign will be valid on both CP and Fertagus.

A Day With The Train is the name of the initiative that will take place on Monday, September 20, in Lisbon and also in Porto and Coimbra. For one day, any and all trips on the urban trains in Lisbon, Porto and Coimbra will cost €1 regardless of the point of departure and destination. The campaign will be valid on both CP and Fertagus.
To travel at the promotional price, you just need to buy a journey at the ticket offices and vending machines of all stations with CP and Fertagus Urban services. You will need to buy a round trip (i.e. two one-way tickets) that have the same departure and arrival point. Two examples: a trip from Entrecampos to Azambuja and back to Entrecampos on a CP Urban, or a trip from Campolide to Setúbal and back to Campolide on a Fertagus train.
CP's Urbanos consist of four lines: the Sintra linebetween Rossio and Sintra; the Azambuja line, between Santa Apolónia and Azambuja; the Cascais linebetween Cais do Sodré and Cascais; the Sado Linebetween Barreiro and Setúbal; and the Waistline, between Alcântara-Terra and Oriente, which, however, does not operate at weekends.
The Fertagus offer consists of only one line, between Rome-Areeiro and Setúbal.Between Campolide and Pinhal Novo this private operator has exclusivity (CP's service on the south bank only coincides with Fertagus' between Pinhal Novo and Setúbal). Although it has only one line, Fertagus provides a network of bus bifurcations from the railway stations where it operates, called Sulfertagus (note: the Fertagus campaign has been running for several years). A Day With The Train does not cover travel by Sulfertagus, only by train).
The Initiative A Day With The Train will take place during the European Mobility Week and aims to commemorate the European Year of Rail TransportThis year's campaign seeks to highlight the role of the railroad as a factor of territorial and social cohesion. This campaign brings together CP, Fertagus, Infraestruturas de Portugal and the two Portuguese rail freight operators - Medway and Takargo.
The customer must have a valid Viva Viagem card, or purchase the same for the value of € 0.50 to load the tickets. No exchanges or returns of these tickets are made. This campaign cannot be combined with other campaigns in force. More information here e here.
