Transtejo Soflusa (TTSL) launched the public tender for the supply of charging stations for its new electric fleetwhich will be consisting of 10 vehicles and are expected to arrive gradually from 2022 until 2024. The new boats will replace the old diesel ships, meeting the national strategy for decarbonization.
O public tender now launched has a base value of 8.6 million euros and is international in scope. This procedure is aimed at suppliers of electrical equipment and construction and electrical contractors, and aims at the construction and delivery of loading stations for the river terminals of Cacilhas, Cais do Sodré, Montijo and Seixal. This project is estimated to be completed by the end of 2024, in line with the timings finals of the arrival of the 10 electric boats at TTSL's hands.

“This is an important investment"., says TTSL in a press release, "which allows Transtejo to transform its operation into a reference of public passenger transport service and move decisively in the process of decarbonization of the activity".
Remember that, in February of this year, TTSL launched a tender for the purchase of batteries for the 10 electric ships. The operator had purchased the boats for a total of 52.44 million euros, with part of the funding from the European Union, but without the batteries and without charging stations. To Dinheiro Vivo, TTSL explained at the time that the separate purchase is "better solution from the economic point of view, because the technology of this type of solution is in permanent evolution and optimization".
