Abusive stopping on the bike path had been destroying the physical segregators. They were recently replaced, but if this behavior (which has become habitual) continues, they won't last long.

The bike lane segregators pop-up on Avenida de Berne, which had been destroyed by vehicles stopping unduly on the cycle path, have recently been completely replaced. The intervention has taken place, although the cycle path is being reassessed.
Completed last summerThe bike lane on Avenida de Berna involved the removal of all surface parking (101 spaces) on that avenue, the creation of loading and unloading spaces on the perpendicular streets, and the introduction of BUS lanes. The work was controversial, as it affected the parking lot, following a petition discussed in the Municipal Assembly in Decemberis being re-evaluated by the City Council services, namely the Municipal Mobility Department.
At the recent decentralized public meetingwhich took place at the beginning of April and was dedicated to the parishes of Avenidas Novas and Campolide, the The Municipal Mobility Director, Francisca Ramalhosa, explained that the following is being done "monitoring the cycle path and identifying possible points for improvement". The person in charge said, "In a month or so, a report will be issued to the executive" evaluate suggestions for improvementso that "intervening on some points" from bike path and the Avenue de Berne. The preparation of this report is also mentioned in Written Information from the President which Carlos Moedas took to the AML on April 12, so that this body can scrutinize the work of the City Council. The report should be ready by the middle of May.
Over time, the segregators on the Avenida de Berna have been destroyed by cars crossing the cycle path for quick stops or even parking. This habitual behavior has meant that, in recent weeks, there have been few, if any, segregators left on the cycle path. Recently, the screws holding the segregators in place had been removed, which, when uncovered, could have put cyclists, pedestrians and vehicles on the avenue at risk. The replacement of the segregators will now bring greater safety to users of the cycle lane - according to EMEL's metersIn total, about 250 people pass through there every day, in both directions.

The same segregators that were originally on the bike lane - the Pitón model from the Spanish manufacturer ADO. We don't know if its bolting to the floor has been reinforced. In any case, with the continuation of stops and abusive parking on the cycle path, it's expected that the new limiters - designed to separate the cycle channel in order to make it safer - won't last long.
