The expansion works of the Lisbon Metro will lead to the creation of a second terminal in Campo Grande, temporary, for 13 months.

The bus stops of the collective bus transports that use the Campo Grande interface, in Lisbon, will suffer temporary changes following the works for the extension of the Lisbon Metro's Yellow and Green lines, which involve the construction of two new viaducts in the Campo Grande area.
As of September 9, a new bus terminal (Terminal 2) will start operating, which will allocate four stops that are currently in the existing terminal (now called Terminal 1). As a result of this change, the stops at Terminal 1 will also be reorganized. These changes are expected to be in effect during next 13 monthswhich will involve the launch of Carris Metropolitana in early 2023, which will replace all current operators in January.

For now, this reorganization will have implications in the transport services of these companies: Santo António, Rodoviária de Lisboa, Henrique Leonardo Mota, Isidoro Duarte, Ribatejana, Boa Viagem, Mafrense, Barraqueiro Oeste and Rodoviária do Oeste/Tejo.
Thus, in the current bus terminal (Terminal 1), the following changes will occur in the location of the bus docks:

The new Terminal 2 will be close to the Campo Grande Metro station, between Rua Ator Fernando Curado Ribeiro and Alameda das Linhas de Torres, temporarily occupying the space previously used for a parking lot. For Terminal 2 will be relocated the stops referring to a single operator, Rodoviária do Oeste/Tejo, with the following routes:
Current Quay (Terminal 1) | Future Pier (Terminal 2) | Operator | Career(s) |
---|---|---|---|
26 | 30 | Oeste/Tejo Road | Fast Green Caldas da Rainha |
27 | 31 | Oeste/Tejo Road | Fast Green Caldas da Rainha |
28 | 32 | Oeste/Tejo Road | Fast Blue Peniche |
29 | 33 | Oeste/Tejo Road | Orange/Red Fast Santarém and Rio Maior |

We highlight the fact that Terminal 2 will only include interregional lines (outside AML), which have a lower hourly frequency than the intercity lines.
According to Metro de Lisboa, the location of this new temporary bus terminal space was articulated with the Lisbon City Hall and Transportes Metropolitanos de Lisboa (TML), taking into consideration the characteristics that a bus terminal requires, as well as the existing constraints in the area. It was considered that the selected location is the best suited to ensure proximity to the Campo Grande Metro station and with the other public transportation existing in that area.

The Lisbon Metro "regrets, in advance, the inconvenience that these changes may cause" and states that the new stops "will be properly signaled" inside the Campo Grande station, "through informational and routing signage"In addition to this, there are also the bus terminals and adjacent outdoor circulation spaces.
The construction of the new Circular Line will involve the construction in Campo Grande of two new viaducts. A 158-meter viaduct that will "close" the Campo Grande ring road and another new viaduct of about 428 meters long, located north of the existing viaducts, which will connect the Odivelas/Campo Grande section of the current Yellow Line to Telheiras station (currently the Green Line). As part of this contract, at the end of June, another important milestone in the execution of the work was reached with the concreting of the first section of deck, located between two pillars of the viaduct that will connect Campo Grande to Telheiras.
