The São Vicente Borough Council wants to know where to install more bicycle parking racks and has launched an online form for the population to help it define the new locations. You can participate until December 16.

There are nine bicycle parking spots in the São Vicente parishThis is done with Sheffield-type brackets, which are considered to be the safest because they can hold the frame and also the wheel. The São Vicente Borough Council and the Municipal Mobility Department (DMM) of CML have already identified 10 new locations for cycle parkingBut the goal is to install more and, for this, they want to count on people's help to identify other places where this equipment is needed.

In a press release, the São Vicente Council explains that the existing and planned locations were defined "in accordance with current guidelines for the promotion of soft mobility, particularly near schools, parks, gardens, and places of stay and leisure". The installation of the nine supports happened "encompassed in public space requalification operations" or "to specifically respond to requests from various residents".

"The St. Vincent Parish Council may install supports in additional locations" and launched a form where anyone can indicate up to three locations. Participation is free and open to non-parishioners, because the parish also serves workers, students and visitors who live outside the parish or eventually the city. You can participate here.

The proposed sites will be evaluated in conjunction with DMM and Junta says "will seek to install supports in the locations that gather the highest incidence of requests". The suggestions should take into account "safety, free circulation and accessibility on sidewalks" and also the "non-obstruction of pedestrian crossings and access to buildings".

The map below shows the equipment already installed (in green) and the locations planned for the installation of additional supports (in yellow).
