In the parish of Benfica, six schools will have a new school bus service, based on the existing Carris network.

Yellow, o Carris and Lisbon City Hall pilot project for school buseswas launched in the parish of Benfica at full throttle. Since last Friday, December 2nd, that the Yellow available in four Benfica schools, with two more to follow soon. Service is assured by the careers 70B e 724 of Carris.
Launched at the beginning of this academic year 2022/23, the Yellow is a school bus service that works on the existing Carris network, particularly on Bairro buses and other lines that serve schools. With Amarelo, children and young people are invited to take a Carris bus (which anyone else can also take), and on the way to school there are adult monitors on board to ensure that the trips run safely and smoothly.
The Schools Silva Porto Park, Architect Ribeiro Telles, Jorge Barradas e Pedro de Santarém were the first schools in Benfica to receive the Yellow. The school bus service is, since last Friday, available to the 1st cycle students of those schools and, soon, will be extended to the secondary school José Gomes Ferreira and also to the students of the 2nd and 3rd Cycles of Morocco Farm.

In Benfica, as in Olivais, Amarelo has the support of the local Junta de Freguesia (parish council), which provides the monitors who will accompany the children on the buses. A Neighborhood Career 70B will be the backbone of the Yellow in the four schoolsbut at schools Jorge Barradas and Pedro de Santarém the career will also be used 724. The monitors will board the bus at the beginning of the route and make the trip with the little ones until they enter the school.
The Carris and Câmara de Lisboa school bus pilot has been running since the end of October in a school in Olivais and - in addition to the two schools in Benfica already mentioned - will soon extend to another school in Lumiar, the EB 2,3 of Telheirasand the other one in Beato, at EB 2,3 Luís António Verney. The Yellow is free and the schedules and routes are public; however, for a better control of passengers, it is necessary that parents register their children, and they can do it on the Lisbon City Hall page dedicated to Yellowor down here.
