This Monday, April 3, the first exclusively night-time lines of Carris Metropolitana began to circulate. The lines 3706 e 3708 will start connecting Lisbon to Almada from 11 pm until close to 6 am - at least one of them.

Line 3706 will start at Sete Rios, on the Lisbon side, and connect to Charneca da Caparica, and vice-versa. With a direct connection to the capital, this night line includes in its route the parishes of Vale Figueira, Feijó and Laranjeiro on the south bank of the Tagus. Until reaching Sete Rios, this unprecedented line will stop in Alcântara, Avenida de Ceuta, next to Campolide Station, Avenida Calouste Gulbenkian and Avenida José Malhoa. This line will operate between 11 pm and 4 am with one circulation per hour, except at 3 am.

On the other hand, line 3708 will start or end service at Cais do Sodré, in Lisbon, and connect to Costa da Caparica. This line will cover the remaining territory of Almada with stops in Trafaria, Monte da Caparica, Bairro Fundo Fomento, Bairro Cor de Rosa, Pragal, Hospital Garcia de Orta, Almada, Cacilhas, Cova da Piedade and Pragal. After the bridge, the 3708 will continue towards Praça Duque da Terceira through Avenida Infante Santo, stopping at the Military Institute, Museu de Arte Antiga and Avenida 24 de Julho. This line will operate between 11 pm and close to 7 am.

"More than minimize the isolation of the populations of Costa and Charneca da Caparica during this period, the new night lines of Carris Metropolitana come to extend the coverage of public road transport service throughout the municipality", refers to the company.
