From April 22nd to April 28th, there will be temporary changes in the Yellow Line timetable between Cidade Universitária and Rato stations.

To do "maintenance works on the signaling system infrastructure" of the Yellow Line, the night period in which the Lisbon Metro is usually closed to the public is not enough, so the company will delay the beginning of the operation and advance the end for several days between April 22 and April 28 only in the mentioned section:

Specifically:

  • on weekend of April 22nd and 23rdThe Yellow Line in the Cidade Universitária - Rato section will open only at 9 a.m. instead of at 6:30. On the 22nd, the mentioned section will close at 1 am as usual and, on the 23rd at 11 PM;
  • during the week, from April 24th (Monday) to April 28th (Friday)the Yellow Line in this same section will open at the usual time (6:30) but close early, at 11 pm.

Putting these new constraints together to those already announced (and underway) because of the works of the Circula Line in Campo Grandeyou can draw this table for the Yellow Line:

April 22 (Saturday)Usual opening hours (6:30am - 1am) between stations Odivelas e Campo Grande

Shortened time between stations University City e Mouse: opens at 9am and closes at 1am
Maintenance work on the signaling system infrastructure

Integration of the new viaducts built to the west of the current Campo Grande station into the existing infrastructure, allowing the future entry into operation of the Circular line

In a statement, and about the shortened schedules now announced, Metro de Lisboa explains that, "by its nature and complexity"the maintenance work on the signaling system's infrastructure is not compatible with the "safe movement of trains and the operation of the transport service". What's more, these works comply with "a schedule of works that presupposes that they will be carried out in cycles that exceed the normal nighttime closing time of the Lisbon Metro (from 1 am to 6:30 am)". As an alternative, Metro suggests Carris lines 738, 701, and 727.
