The Environmental Fund again supports the purchase of bicycles, electric and non-electric, as well as other types of electric soft mobility, such as scooters and skateboards.
The Government is again supporting the purchase of bicycleselectric and non-electric, by people and companiesthrough the Environmental Fund. The program that reimburses up to 50% of the acquisition value of soft mobility vehicles was relaunched with the same budget allocation as 2022 and the same values per category.
It is through the so-called "Incentive for the Introduction to Consumption of Zero Emission Vehicles" that the Government is once again supporting electric or non-motorized vehicles. In total, the program has a budget of 10 million euros, but for bicycles and other soft mobility modes are reserved only 3.4 million.
The available supports are as follows:
- cargo bikes, with or without electric assistanceincluding trailers:
- 50% co-payment of the vehicle's acquisition value: up to 1,500 Euros in the case of cargo bikes with electric assistance; or up to 1,000 Euros in the case of cargo bikes without electric assistance;
- 1 application per natural person is allowed. In the case of a company, association, cooperative or other type of legal entity, 4 applications are allowed;
- support ends when the 300 incentives or 450 thousand euros are reached.
- electric city bikes:
- 50% of the purchase value of the vehicle: up to 500 euros (example: if you buy an electric bike that costs 1000 euros, you will receive 500 euros, or 50% of that value, from the Environmental Fund);
- 1 application per natural person is allowed. In the case of a company, association, cooperative or other type of legal entity, 4 applications are allowed;
- support ends when the 4,550 incentives or 2,275 thousand euros are reached.
- other types of electric soft mobilitysuch as scooters, rollerblades, skateboards, hoverboards and single-wheel:
- 50% of the vehicle's acquisition value: up to 500 euros (example: if you buy an electric scooter that costs 1000 euros, you will receive 500 euros, or 50% of that) from the Environmental Fund; new vehicles only;
- 1 application per natural person is allowed. In the case of a company, association, cooperative or other type of legal entity, 4 applications are allowed;
- support ends when the 1,050 incentives or 525,000 euros are reached. The scooters, skates, skateboards, hoverboards and electric single-wheelers (called DEMOP) share this category as do electric motorcycles, so these are total figures.
- conventional city bikes:
- 20% of the vehicle's acquisition value: up to 100 euros (example: if you buy a bicycle that costs 100 euros, you will receive 20 euros, or 20% of that value, from the Environmental Fund);
- 1 application per natural person is allowed. In the case of a company, association, cooperative or other type of legal entity, 4 applications are allowed;
- support ends when the 1,500 incentives or 150,000 euros are reached.
As in 2021, applications are accepted from individuals (citizens) and legal entities (companies, associations, cooperatives...). The support is for new vehicles only and all purchases made since January 1, 2023 are eligible. You can get more information here and make your application here.
