Eight Carris Metropolitana lines serving the municipality of Sesimbra will undergo route or timetable changes from January 1st. Almada will gain three new circular lines.

Eight Carris Metropolitana lines serving the municipality of Sesimbra will undergo route or timetable changes as of January 1stIn a small but important network overhaul. These changes are aimed at "improving the efficiency of the network and providing an even more comprehensive experience for those traveling to Lisbon"the company reports.
What's new in Sesimbra as of January 1st?
- the line 3208which connected Fetais to Sesimbra, will no longer serving the town of Fetais, "in order to overcome the circulation challenges on Rua dos Curvais and Rua Praia do Moinho de Baixo". It will start (or finish) at Aldeia do Meco. The line is renamed "3208 | Aldeia do Meco - Sesimbra (Terminal)" and the timetable remains the same;
- the line 3209for its part, will now serve FetaisThe route will start at Rua dos Curvais, connecting it to the Sesimbra bus station. The route will now start at Rua dos Curvais, in Fetais, continue to Fornos (where it starts today) and then to Caixas, where it will follow the usual route. Between Fornos and Caixas no longer includes the towns of Alfarim and Torrões. The line is renamed "3209 | Fetais - Sesimbra (Terminal)" and the timetable remains the same;
- the line 3210, between the Albufeira Lagoon and the Sesimbra terminalwill have its long journeyand will now circulate along Estrada dos Murtinhais and serve Rua Mira Lagoa, where the following will be added four new stops. The initial/terminal stop is now next to the Albufeira Lagoon Market. This line will no longer serve the stops on Casalão Road. With these changes, schedule adjustments to guarantee punctual arrivals at schools and the Sesimbra terminal. At weekends, the line will have three new schedules, departing at 7 a.m. in the Lagoa de Albufeira direction, guaranteeing a better service to the market;
- the line 3216, between the Alto das Vinhas e Sampaiowill have its changed route and will no longer start at Alto das Vinhas, but at perform departure from the town of Maçã. Passengers from Alto das Vinhas should use line 3635 as an alternative. The line will be renamed "3216 | Apple - Sampaio" and the timetable remains the same;
- the line 3217, between Azóia e Sampaiowill have its long journey Avenida 25 de Abril, in Azóia, with the addition of another stop;








- the line 3540, between Alfarim and Coinawill now serve the town of Zambujalwhere he will start his journey, as well as the Albufeira Lagoon. "The connection established with Coina aims to broaden the options for residents of these areas who commute to Lisbon, providing a more diversified transport offer"explains Carris Metropolitana. With these changes, the timetables will be adjusted: will be entered two new afternoon scheduleswith departure from Zambujal at 19h30 and Coina at 20h30. The line is renamed "3540 | Zambujal - Coina (Station)";
- the line 3635, between Coina and the Sesimbra bus station, passing through Azeitão and Sampaiowill have its long journey to include Augusto Pólvora Park and the Alto das Vinhas. One new stop will be created in the Augusto Pólvora Parkin both directions. Alto das Vinhas, on the other hand, will now be served by the 3635 with a more direct route. With this change, the line will have timetable adjustments in order to guarantee school entrances; for example, the first departure from Coina will be brought forward by 10 minutes to 6:50;
- the line 3543between the Coina and the Quinta do Conde, passing through Coina Road, will have a new route towards Quinta do CondeThe station's returns will be reinforced with new schedules.

It should be remembered that on December 1st, the Quinta do Conde ring road had already undergone some changes. A 3222 gained new stops along the route to facilitate access to the Michel Giacometti School and the Quinta do Conde Health Center.

Near the Michel Giacometti school, the route was extended to include Rua do Sossego, Rua das Descobertas and Avenida Cova dos Vidros, a change that allowed for the creation of two new stops. Near the Health Center, the line now goes in one direction along Rua 31 de Janeiro and in the opposite direction along Rua Latino Coelho, with two new stops. The aim of these changes was to "making it easier for passengers to travel, providing greater accessibility to educational and health institutions in the region, with a view to meeting the needs of the community". New ring roads in Almada
Almada will gain three new circular lines on January 1st: one in Charneca da Caparica (3020), another in the Marco Cabaço district (3029) and a third in Quintinhas (3037). "The new lines will allow the population of these places to have proximity connections, covering educational establishments and other services"the company reports.
These three circular lines will have nine timetables per directionboth in business days how much on Saturdays. Although all the lines are circular, two directions of traffic have been created per line "in order to optimize the connections of the towns served".
- the line 3020 will serve Charneca da Caparica, taking into account points such as the Vale Rosal Primary School, a Parish Church e various associations and services. By connecting the areas of Quinta do Talefe, Quinta da Barriga and Quinta de Santa Teresa, this line becomes an alternative for exploring and getting around easily in the region;


- the line 3029 will connect the residents of Charneca to important points such as the Marco Cabaço Primary Schoolas well as various services such as pharmacies and supermarkets. In one direction, the ring road also passes near the Quinta do Texugo;


- the line 3037 will establish a close connection for the residents of Quintinhas, serving places such as the Elementary School, Quinta de Santa Maria Kindergarten, Carlos Gargaté Elementary School, Charneca de Caparica Municipal Swimming Pool Complexas well as other services and points of interest.

On December 1st, the line had already started operating, also in Almada. 3038a line of proximity between the Porto Brandão and the Banatic. This line now allows the people of these areas to have connections to services in Monte da Caparica, such as the Basic School, the Maria Lamas Library and the shopping area in Rua dos Três Vales.

For its part, the 3038 offers connections with several other lines, such as the 3034, 3527, 3528, 3601, 3708 and 3711 lines in Porto Brandão, or the 3008 (whose route was changed with the entry of the new proximity line), 3009, 3012, 3014, 3022, 3031, 3033 and 3034 lines in Monte da Caparica. It also connects to the MTS at the "Fomega" station, offering passengers the facility to travel to Cacilhas and the University efficiently and conveniently.
