On March 1st, there will be a new reinforcement of the Carris Metropolitana operation in several municipalities, especially on the North Bank.

From time to time, Transportes Metropolitanos de Lisboa (TML) reinforces the offer of the Metropolitan Railwaytogether with the respective operators, providing new lines, timetables and stops, and making adjustments to existing lines. March 1st will be no exception: this time, the news will mainly concern the municipalities of Oeiras, Sintra, Amadora and Odivelas.
News in Oeiras
Oeiras will gain two circular lines in Algés. The new lines 1113 and 1114 will run between Algés, Cruz Quebrada, Linda-a-Velha and Miraflores, replacing the current line 1102. "This change will optimize the service, which will now run in two different directions, reducing journey times for passengers"TML said in a statement. The line 1113 will connect the Algés train station to Cruz Quebrada and Linda-a-Velha, while the 1114 will run through Linda-a-Velha and Miraflores, also passing through the Algés transport interface.

In addition to the circular routes, Oeiras will also see a reinforcement of two dozen timetables on various lines. These include municipal lines (whose service is restricted to the municipality of Oeiras) and inter-municipal lines (whose service crosses the municipality's borders), with reinforcements expected mainly on lines that make connections to Lisbon. The lines with new features are: 1101, 1103, 1107, 1610, 1611, 1616, 1722, 1723, 1724, 1725, 1726, 1729, 1730 e 1733. At the same time, lines 1105 and 1522 will have a new stop at Avenida Jaime Cortesão; and line 1112 will cease to exist to be integrated into line 1507which connects Caxias station in Oeiras to Reboleira station in Amadora.

There will also be adjustments in the municipality of Sintra, with impact on the municipalities of Amadora and Cascais. In addition to these two lines, the 1622 (between Aguava-Cacém and Carcavelos train stations) will also undergo timetable adjustments, this time in the evening, to serve train connections at Carcavelos.
In addition, a new route and increased timetable will be introduced on the line 1721which connects Massamá to the Military College in Lisbon. The new route will run between Massamá (Casal Olival) and Queluz (4 Caminhos). In addition to this new route, the timetable will also be extended, departing at 5.15 am in the direction of the Military College. Since the 1721 line runs the entire route of the 1227 and has a wider timetable and territorial coverage, the 1227 will be deactivated.
