The intention to reshape Sete Rios is not new under the program A Square in Every Neighborhoodbut Lisbon City Council has published plans for the project. The intervention will pedestrianize and green the area in front of the Zoo, displacing car traffic, introduce cycling infrastructure that will connect to Praça de Espanha, Benfica Road and Laranjeiras Road, and also create a new suburban bus terminal.
According to the information provided by the municipalityThe new Praça de Sete Rios (or Praça Marechal Humberto Delgado) will feature "reorganization of carriageways, increase of BUS lanes and traffic lights at pedestrian crossings that favor pedestrians, cyclists and public transport". The project will promote the general widening of sidewalks and reduce the routes between pedestrian circulation and public transport stops, by creating linear and direct routes.

The idea is precisely to install in Sete Rios the new suburban bus terminal, until now located in Praça de Espanha. A comfortable, modern and accessible interface, located mainly under the Eixo Norte-Sul highway viaduct and with "rain, wind and sun protection systems that complement the cover provided by the viaduct". The municipality states that "the redevelopment of the Express Terminal will be an efficient addition to the Transport Interface complex"There is also talk of a future subway connection from the metro station to the train station.

In the new Praça de Sete Rios, the existing trees will be maintained and new green areas will be created. "The garden areas correspond to large permeable spaces where the use of vegetation predominates over the use of sidewalks. This typology is concentrated in the northern area of the intervention, where the square confronts the Zoo, as well as on the western edge, on the land where the old PIDE facilities and pre-existing garden were located, which will tend to be maintained, adapting it to the new design ", the Chamber said. "In the garden spaces, it is planned to create plots of irrigated meadow, which allow people to circulate, stop and use for informal activities such as picnics and games."
