Municipal Assembly promotes first decentralized session

This Friday, May 20, any citizen can sign up to present their questions, problems, and ideas about the city to the municipal deputies and members of the City Council executive.

A Lisbon's Municipal Assembly (AML) will debut in a decentralized formata model that had already been followed by the City Council. This Friday, starting at 6 pm, the municipal deputies will be available to the population at the Pharmacy Museum, in the "Adamastor", for about two hours.

The session - which is the 22nd meeting of the AML in the current 2022-2025 term - will feature single point a "listening to the citizens", "pursuing a policy of proximity of elected officials to the population", informs the President of the AML, Rosário Farmhouse.

Anyone can sign up to present their issue, problem, or idea for the city. The session will count with the elected municipal deputies - from the different parties represented in the Assembly - which includes the Presidents of the Parish Councils. Members of the City Council's executive will also be present, as in other AML sessions.

Registration can be made:

  • onlinefrom 3 pm on May 17 until 5 pm on May 20;
  • in person:
    • between May 17 and 20, from 9:30am to 1pm and from 2pm to 5pm, both at the headquarters of the Municipal Assembly (Avenida de Roma, 14-L) and at the Misericórdia Parish Council (Largo Doutor António de Sousa Macedo, 7D);
    • on May 20, from 6 pm to 8 pm, in the auditorium of the Pharmacy Museum.

The first 40 registered residents are guaranteed the right to speak (three minutes per person), and those who register beyond that limit will be accepted as substitutes. If the two-hour period is not exhausted by the intervention of the permanent members, the substitutes will be allowed to intervene in the order of registration.

The event will take place in the auditorium of the Pharmacy Museumwhich is located at number 1 on Marechal Saldanha Street, in the area better known as "Adamastor". The session will have the following program:

  • 18h00 - opening by the President of the Lisbon Municipal Assembly, Rosário Farmhouse;
  • 6:05 pm - intervention by the registered citizens;
  • 20h05 - intervention by the City Council and the Municipal Deputies
  • 21h05 - closing
