Riding public transportation on the South Bank has made it much simpler for me.

Since day zero of Carris Metropolitana's launch, the CityMapper app was one of the best ways to navigate the new bus operator's offer. However, there were several missing lines and schedules in what is one of the best apps for those who ride public transport. The problem is now solved.
The Carris Metropolitana network is now fully available on Citymapper for consulting stops, routes and schedules, allowing the user to plan his/her routes. CityMapper collects information through GTFS (General Transit Feed Specification)a standardized protocol used globally by the transportation industry, which provides geographic information related to traffic data, enabling the information to be shared uniformly in all tools that use this format, ensuring consistent information, in different layers and formats, such as the location of stops, calendars, trips, frequencies, among others.

With the GTFS standard it will be possible for Carris Metropolitana's information to be made available on other platforms as well, such as Google Maps or the Apple Mapswhich is planned and should happen soon.
The availability of all the information in CityMapper and soon in other applications is excellent news for many users, fans of new digital technologies. So far, the only way to search the entire Carris Metropolitana network was by the respective sitebut the search options were limited and archaic (you have to know the line number beforehand or search by municipality, and you cannot simply indicate a departure and destination to find out what is on offer).
It should be noted that the arrival of Carris Metropolitana to the AML North Bank is only scheduled for January 1, 2023. At this moment, several of the companies that still operate in this region have never made any information available in the most used digital platforms, such as CityMapper or Google Maps, which makes it difficult for some people to know what is actually available. This is the case, for example, with Vimeca. The arrival of Carris Metropolitana will solve this problem.
