The public space around the beautiful Santa Clara Garden, in the parish of the same name, has been rehabilitated. The work is part of the municipal program A Square in Every Neighborhood is complete and involved the reorganization of streets and parking, as well as the completion of a tree-lined pedestrian boulevard, the laying of comfortable paving, repairs to a small urban park and the creation of new green spaces.

The project of the A Square in Every Neighborhood planned for the area around the Santa Clara Garden, known as Quinta de Santa Clara, had already seen its first phase completed in 2017/18, the second phase has now been completed.
The Alameda de Santa Clara, pedestrianized and lined with trees, now allows people to cross between Rua Jorge de Sena and Rua Vitorino Nemésio. This last street has seen its road traffic area shortened in order to widen the pedestrian space and lay comfortable paving. Next to the Santa Clara gallery, the area for pedestrians has been increased in order to encourage commercial activity through the installation of terraces. There was widespread tree planting.
As part of this intervention, two other renovations were carried out by the Santa Clara Parish Council: one nearby, in front of the Parish Council building, which is now a small square with ample pedestrian space; another right next to the garden, the Jorge de Sena Urban Park, which has new paths and renovated equipment; and
On the outskirts of Lisbon, the parish of Santa Clara seems to be forgotten by the city, but its garden and now the whole area around it, or the Vale da Ameixoeira Urban Park, are points of interest worth visiting. It's a peaceful, quiet parish based on old farms; it has a metro station with the name "Ameixoeira" (there's a desire to change it to "Santa Clara"), next to which a GIRA station is planned.
