The Lisbon Metro offers a new alternative to its customers to acquire the Lisboa VIVA card. As of today, October 12th, Alameda station on the Red line will have two self-service kiosks that will allow the Lisboa VIVA card to be issued in a few minutes.
Users of this new service do not need to fill out a form, take a photo, and wait for days for the production of the card, but only need to be holders of the citizen card and bank card (debit).
The VIVA Kiosk is a model developed by OTLIS - Transport Operators of the Lisbon Region, ACE, with the support of the Environmental Fund and the European Commission (Connecting Europe Facility), which is based on the reading of the citizen's card to automatically fill in the data and use the photo, thus allowing the urgent request for the Lisboa VIVA card to be made and obtained on the spot, for the price of 12 euros (corresponding to the price of an urgent request that takes one business day to be delivered).

For this new functionality, you just have to introduce the citizen card in the machine, fill in the missing data and accept the terms and conditions for the issuing and use of the new Lisboa VIVA card. Then you have to make the payment, by debit card and in a few minutes the card is printed and can be used immediately after loading the title of travel in an automatic machine or sales post.
Payment must be made by debit card (ATM), the invoice is directly forwarded to the Finance Portal, and can be printed on the spot if the client wishes.
