Lisbon Metro now warns on Twitter if "there are disruptions in circulation

Lisbon Photography For People

Metro de Lisboa was slow to take to Twitter - it only created an account in December last year - which over the years has led to the emergence of several unofficial accounts with different purposes: from @UnderLx, with a "public service" purpose, to @LisboaMetro, with a parody scope, passing through @IsMetroLXDown, whose purpose was to warn of traffic disruptions (it stopped doing this in 2018).

Since the end of 2020, the official profile @Metro_Lisboa on Twitter has sought to be a useful source of information for all passengers of this means of transport, adding to the company's previous presence on the Instagram and in the Facebook. However, there is now a new reason to follow Metro de Lisboa on Twitter. This is because the website now provides real-time notifications on the status of traffic on all lines.

Whenever there are disturbances, this information is automatically disclosed in the feed of Metro Twitter posts, with the hashtag 1TP5LineStatus Information on the existence of disturbances or the normalization of traffic, which previously could only be consulted on the Metro de Lisboa websiteThis makes it more accessible via Twitter.

"The main aim of this new feature is to facilitate and strengthen communication with the customer, boosting the company's presence among its customers and the community in general"explains the company in a statement.
