Located in Campolide, the Amnesty International Garden has been re-qualified with the planting of new trees and the installation of benches.
The rehabilitation of the Amnesty International Garden in Campolide, which began in Aprilis finished. New boilers have been opened in the central axis and trees have been planted to give the space more shade and make for a more comfortable stay.
Some of these trees, however, appear to be are dry or in a fragile state, may not have survived the hotter, drier weather of the summer.
In addition to the new trees, the following have also been planted garden benches along the central axisThe trees were also added. The intervention also covered a secondary corridor, where new shade was created and more benches installed. The Amnesty International Garden, which is part of the Monsanto Green Corridorwas left untouched.
We now hope that the garden will be well maintaineddesigned by architect Gonçalo Ribeiro Telles, to allow the trees to grow and provide new shade.
The Amnesty International Garden covers 3.3 hectares and was opened in 2012. It has a large lawn area, a terrace area with a small auditorium and a fitness area. It has good accessibility on foot or by bicycle and is now very close to the new Gonçalo Ribeiro Telles Urban Park (Plaza de España).
