Lisbon City Council is available to hear your opinion on the current management and maintenance of the Monsanto Forest Park. This is a biannual practice, as part of the certification awarded to this space. The public consultation is taking place until September 30th.
The Monsanto Forest Park is certified by Forest Management assigned by Forest Stewardship Council (FSC)a global non-profit organization dedicated to promoting and certifying responsible forest management around the world. The FSC Forest Management certification awarded to Monsanto is the world's most important certification in terms of the environmental compliance of forestry holdings.
As part of this certification, the municipality has implemented a set of good practices in the Park which must be scrutinized by a biannual public consultation with its users. Lisbon City Council therefore invites all interested parties to submit their opinions on the day-to-day management and maintenance activities carried out in the Park and their respective impacts. via e-mail dmaevce.dev@cm-lisboa.pt.
Contributions can also be submitted in person at Monsanto Interpretation Center (CIM) or at the gates of the Recreational Parks of the Alto da Serafina and the Alvito.
In 2021, after an audit, the Monsanto Forest Park renewed its FSC certification for another five years, from September 17 of that year to September 16, 2026.
