Over the next two months, a series of 30+bici circuits will be created in the parish of Campo de Ourique. They will be new cycling corridors, where the maximum speed is reduced to 30 km/h in order to make the circulation of bicycles comfortable with the rest of the traffic.
According to information from the Lisbon City CouncilThe work starts this week and will cover a dozen arteries. These are
- Rua Saraiva de Carvalho (one-way, connects the Prazeres Cemetery to near Largo do Rato)
- Professor Gomes Teixeira Street (a street next to a school and the Presidency of the Council of Ministers)
- Francisco Metrass Street (a crossroads of Rua Saraiva de Carvalho)
- Azedo Gneco Street (another crossing of Rua Saraiva de Carvalho)
- Rua Almeida e Sousa (a one-way parallel to Rua Saraiva de Carvalho, which allows travel in the opposite direction)
- Sampaio Bruno Street (connects the Prazeres Cemetery area to Rua Maria Pia, which in turn is in public discussion on the JF Campo de Ourique website)
- Rua Infantaria Dezasseis (one parallel to Saraiva de Carvalho and Almeida e Sousa streets)
- Rua Silva Carvalho (one-way, connects Rua das Amoreiras to the area where the aforementioned streets are located)
- Travessa Cima dos Quarteis (a small crossroads to Rua Infantaria Dezasseis)
- Amoreiras Street (connects Amoreiras to Rato and vice versa)

In recent years, the neighborhoods of Alvalade and Avenidas Novas have seen a number of shared lanes between bicycles and ordinary traffic, marked with a green stripe on the asphalt, the symbol of a bicycle and a maximum speed limit of 30 km/h. These are the new Zones 30 (or areas 30+bike) of the city, areas with less traffic, less speed and more safety, where the different means of transport can coexist.
The municipality refers to this work in Campo de Ourique as the first phase, and it is expected that more connections will be made. Under study, is the extension of the cycle path from Rua Marquês da Fronteira to Campo de OuriqueThis could connect the neighborhood to the rest of the road network. On the Amoreiras side, there are plans to introduce a cycle network in the central part of Amoreiras as part of the project A Square in Every Neighborhood and the future intervention planned for the Alto das Amoreiras Square.
