There is a new (small) bike path in Lisbon. It is in Parque das Nações

The new bike path is on Rua da Centieira, near Gare do Oriente. It should connect to the 2nd phase of the Avenida de Pádua bike path, which, despite having an EMEL project ready two years ago, was never built.

The section of Rua da Centieira near Gare do Oriente reopened to trafficafter two years closed for the construction works of a new business complexEXEO Office Campus. E with this reopening, a 400-meter bicycle path is now available that connects the Avenues of Padua and Berlin, along the railway line.

Although ready for several months, this section of the bike path was fenced off, making it impossible to use. Now open, there is a new connection to Gare do Oriente from Avenida de Pádua. The bicycle path runs in a straight line at sidewalk level. On the side of Avenida de Berlim, it connects directly to the existing bicycle path on this artery, through a traffic light crossing (the traffic lights are not yet in operation so both cyclist and pedestrian will have priority in crossing).

The new configuration of this section of Centieira Street also includes parking and two general traffic directions. A Centieira Street has two large stretches: the second follows Avenida de Pádua in the direction of Avenida Infante Dom Henrique; it will be on this second part of the street that a affordable housing.

The intersection of Rua da Centieira and Avenida de Pádua was revised at the end of 2019A new traffic circle was built and completed the following year with markings for a bicycle path. However, the bike path markings on the traffic circle were never finished, nor was the bike path on Avenida de Pádua completed. This artery received an infrastructure pop-up in 2020 in the pandemic context, but this bike lane was only created between Avenida Cidade de Luanda and Avenida Infante Dom Henrique; between this and the new traffic circle, EMEL's project was left unrealized.

The continuation of the Padua Avenue bike path would provide for the extension of the two one-way pop-up lanes through changes in parking and sidewalks: the two one-way lanes would follow the existing parking area: on the downstream direction, parking would be maintained but advanced toward the roadway, which would now have one lane instead of two; on the upstream direction, parking would be eliminated to maintain two lanes of traffic.

The bicycle crossings at intersections would be marked and painted, and also the sections where the lane would have to pass through a sidewalk area. The bike path would pass through the contiguous Avenida do Mediterrâneo, cross with Avenida D. João II, and finally connect to Alameda dos Oceanos; in a very short final section it would be in a 30+bici format.
