The Lisbon City Hall reactivated its Bicycle Acquisition Support Program (PAAB), but a much reduced version. There are only 10 thousand euros of budget allocation to distribute by the end of this year, companies and other types of legal entities are not covered, there are only 13 adherent stores/workshopsand the co-participation is only for accessories such as locks, trailers and child seats, and for bicycle repair.

After two editions in 2020 and 2021 supporting bicycle sharing, PAAB has returned in a much lighter model. The program will allow 50% reimbursement:

  • of the purchase price (including VAT) of bicycle safety and child transport accessories in participating stores, up to a limit of 80 euros;
  • the amount of the repair (VAT included) of bicycles, including the materials in adhering workshops, up to a limit of 80 euros.

"In order to maximize the achievement of the goal to foster the use of bicycles in the city of Lisbon, the application of the Bicycle Acquisition Support Program for individuals is renewed in 2022, contemplating the attribution of support for the acquisition of safety accessories and child transport on bicycles, as well as the acquisition of bicycle repair materials and services", informs the autarky.

As in previous editions, PAAB is available to individuals who live, study (in public or private educational establishments) or work in Lisbon (the company's headquarters must be in the municipality). With a budget of 10 thousand euros, the PAAB will last until December 31st, 2022, or until the total budget is reached.

Note that eligible are purchases of safety and child transport accessories or bicycle repair services made since October 12 at the following participating stores/workshops: Armazéns Airaf, Bencco Bikes, Bina Clínica, Cenas A Pedal, Decathlon Lisboa Oriente (yes, just that store), Ebikelovers Expo, Ebikelovers Gulbenkian, Kombina, Riverside Bike Shop, Salva Biclas, Velo Corvo and Watt-Electric Moving.
