What if the car-free Marginal was a more recurrent event?

For one morning, the Marginal was for people, not cars. The Oeiras City Council has closed the maritime avenue to traffic for another edition of Move Along the MarginalThis is the 22nd time the event has been held, but it is very infrequent. Hundreds of people joined the event en masse.
Avenida Marginal was closed between 8 a.m. and 1 p.m. on Sunday from Caxias to the limits with the municipality of Cascais, at Praia da Torre. Between Caxias and Algés, it was possible to use the section of the promenade where bicycles are allowed.
Along the Avenida Marginal there were different activities that people could enjoy for free, but those who wanted to could simply walk, run, cycle, ride a bike, etc. skateboard or travel in any other smooth way from one end of the Marginal to the other. Along the way, some local officials directed people to the right side of the avenue to avoid crossing directions.

The Marginal was full of bicycles and people of all ages - and lots of children. Several families rode along the Marginal with baby carriages and there were people with dogs. A few skateboards and rollerblades were seen. The coexistence between everyone seemed peaceful, with the exception of a few cyclists wearing sportswear who insisted on using the avenue for training at high speeds, refiling with those who were there (and rightly so) in walking mode.
