By 2022, the city's cycling network has grown by only 1 km.

It is about 1 km long, is in Bela Vista and connects Olivais to the Urban Park of Vale de Chelas. It is the only bike path built in 2022 in the city of Lisbon and is ready. The work also included a pedestrian corridor and the planting of new trees.
This section starts at Rua Pardal Monteiro, next to Avenida Marechal Gomes da Costa, and follows Avenida Santo Condestável towards the commercial area of Bela Vista; only that before reaching there, the bike path ends, giving access to the Urban Park of Vale de Chelas. The track has two major sections: one that follows the pedestrian and green corridor, and another that follows the road along Avenida Santo Condestável.

The part of the bike path that is on the road is segregated from the rest of the traffic by a fairly wide lane area. The bike path has a conventional width of 2.40 meters, which makes it seem too smallSanto Condestável is a very wide avenue, and the width of the lanes alone is almost twice as wide as the bike lane. On the other hand, the cycling path in this part of the road has a bad pavement in general, with some holes, since there was no repaving.

The connection of the new bike path to the one-way sections, pop-upof Rua Pardal Monteiro were not executed as per the project. The new track connects to the previous infrastructure in the traffic circle area of Avenida Marechal Gomes da Costa; here, however, the contract was not taken advantage of to correct and repaint the older bike lane, which is partially damaged and missing part of the paint.

The construction of the bike path came along with a reduction of the space destined for automobile circulation on Avenida Santo Condestável, which now has two lanes instead of three in each direction, as well as the creation of sidewalks and pedestrian connections on this avenue, at least on one side, allowing the path that became possible by bicycle to also be done on foot.

The contract for this bike path had been consigned at the end of 2021 by about 324.8 thousand euros; and it was a work of the responsibility of the Green Spaces division of the Lisbon City Hall. It was the only bike path built in Lisbon in 2022, although this year it opened a section in Parque das Nações and other in Carnide. The network grew by only 1 km and had not grown that little since 2017, according to the municipality's open data.
By 2023, it is planned to build at least two bike pathswhich, like this one in Bela Vista, are the result of previous commitments: a bicycle path on Avenida Egas Monizwhich will connect the existing bike lanes on Combatentes and Lusíada avenues; and another on Avenida de Páduawhich is a second phase of the track that already exists on this artery. The construction of a new cyclopedestrian and green bridge on Avenida Almirante Gago Coutinho is also planned. These three works will be EMEL's responsibility.
